Our Society is Unsafe for Women and the Girl Child

If the world was so safe for women,

If men were not the greatest predators of women,

why do we have countless instructions, lessons, and cautions for young girls and women on how not to get sexually assaulted by men?

There's a failure in the society and its institutions to call out rape and sexual assault for what it is, and address the real issue: Men are dangerous, beastly, and have to be put on check. Even the finest of them still have beastly instincts, waiting to be unleashed on a vulnerable woman or child.

We get countless news of young girls and women getting raped and sexually assaulted. The question is, "By who"?

Always a man!

There's a recent case of a young girl who was raped by a known content creator, and she committed suicide because of the trauma.

And what do we have?

People blaming the victim for taking her life.

As a society, we should be ashamed of ourselves!

And you'll have some disoriented men come out to say, "...not all men..."

You are crazy!

You are demented!

It's not all men, but it's always a man!

How have you dealt with the issue of the beastly and animalistic behaviours of men?

Rather than call out these wicked and beastly acts and the men who have made themselves predators of women and young girls, you make up excuses to soft-pedal on the tragedy, so you'll not have to face the uncomfortable truth.

The female child is given a million and one instructions on how not to get raped or sexually assaulted, and you still don't see it for what it is?

That's like saying,

"There are wild animals in the forest; so learn how to navigate safely and not get mauled."

The problem is that, the wild animals are not actually in the forest. They live with her, eat with her, smile at her, and even get her to trust them!

And who are the wild animals?

Could be her father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, neighbour, teacher, mentor, spiritual leader, classmate, friend, employer, stranger...

For Christ's sake, the wild animals are just everywhere!

And she has to carry all this protective gear around, from when she is born till she departs this world. Mind you, even her corpse is not safe and has to be guarded, because the wild animal can also be the mortuary attendant!

Are you not ashamed?!!?

The society as we have it does not protect women; it sees us as convenient tools. 

"The man's reputation would be damaged..."

This shows how demented, abnormal and disoriented many are, and still walk around thinking they are normal.

The female child starts her ordeal as a baby. If it's not female genital mutilation, it is child marriage. It's always something to make her more manageable for men, or adequate for men's pleasure.

Someone told me that the twisting of a female baby's joints during bathes is to make her "sweet for her husband." 

I exclaimed, "A baby!"

😭😭😭

Can you let the female child have a life without glamorizing her as a pleasure box for some man?

What kind of world do we live in!?

Even female babies are not safe!

And when women advocate for a safe and sane society for women, they are labelled "angry" and "bitter."

📌If it's anger, then we are not angry enough!

📌If it's bitterness, then we are not bitter enough!

If men don't hold themselves responsible and accountable for their beastly attitudes, then these tragedies are not going anywhere.

"What was she wearing?"

"Why did she go to his house?"

"She asked for it."

"She is a whore and got what she deserved."

We would rather blame the victim for getting attacked, than admit the truth staring us right in the face, "Are men not the vicious animals that women have to protect themselves from?"

If you've ever blamed a woman for getting raped or sexually assaulted, you are a beast, and are manifesting beastly attitudes. 

If men where sane and safe, women wouldn't be given a plethora of rules on how to protect themselves from men. That's what you should be seriously concerned about, and not how the victim got herself attacked!
