Husband is a verb: Manage your virtuous woman carefully!
I started brooding on the Bible's description of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:10-31 and an understanding struck me. I rushed to the Bible to check it out and here was my finding: All through the episode of the virtuous woman, we saw all she did - her diligence, her wisdom, her perseverance, her enterprise and how she took care of her household. Her husband gained fame and respect in the community because of her, as it was stated that "Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders." Verse 23 Do you know that strength can fail the virtuous woman, even her motivation can lapse? What then was the lubricant of the virtuous woman? It is stated in verse 28-29 of Proverbs 31: Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her : “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” HER HUSBAND PRAISES HER 'Praises' is a present tense. Which means he did that every so often. He praises her...
