COLOR YOUR WORLD
Written by Chiderah Beulah Ojukwu-Ngele
There's nobody that has life going smooth for them all the time. Even motivational speakers have days of being unmotivated. They may have issues in their life that can be a thorn in the flesh and have resisted many remedies. Don't even think rich people are always happy. There are times they despair of life, hate life and even money. Things happen to everyone in life. Those who are highly placed have problems that even make them not savour the delicacy served on their exquisite dinning table.
Everyone, I repeat, everyone has their share of challenges that are really challenging. Don't even resort to social media to determine the condition of people's lives. Everything there is selected. When it's picture time, it's only natural for us to put on our best smile, use a nice background, dish out our best pose and to crown it all, to use a catchy caption to post it on social media. It doesn't show anything! Don't try to compare your life with pictures, videos or write-ups. You'll be getting it all wrong.
Life is made up of several tracks and each one on their track. Focus on your track! You have enough troubles already to deal with than to fall into the temptation of comparison with other people. They have their problems but are wise enough not to expose them to the world.
Comedians are not always going about cracking jokes. They even use the difficulties of life to make people laugh. I think that is what we should endeavor to do. Look for more reasons to laugh. Quit any circle that bemoans life! You can't do that to yourself-to associate with people that make you see the darkness in an already dark world. Mbanu! See, you are here already, so don't agree to be the one people will use as a symbol of tragedy, depression and the likes.
Color your world my dear. Let this life be your canvas where you draw colourful pictures. Let people see light through you. Everything has its time and season. That challenge will pass and you'll enter into another one. C'est la vie mon amour!
Cheer up. You've come this far. You'll definitely move from here. Take it one day at a time!
With love from,
Chiderah.
